The site is divided into four sections: to inform, to collect, to educate, and to preserve. Among these categories are literally hundreds of useful articles and links helpful to book lovers and collectors alike. For instance, there are special sections on mystery book collecting and children book collecting (among many others), guides to book search engines and book auction sites, and much, much more. AOL Keyword: artnet. The company also maintains offices in New York. The online e-commerce bookstore, launched in 1999 is the newest major addition to the site. Many parts of the site are open, but there are many others that require subscription or sign in. The development of the art auction database development was the original impetus for the organization and remains a major focus. The site's magazine is very slick and graphically sophisticated. Hotwired's RGB Gallery This site is part of the on-line Hot Wired magazine and is a feature which showcases digital artists. Interesting and fairly fast for such a graphics intensive site. On-line archive of past featured artists. New York Arts Wire A program of the New York Foundation of the Arts This sites has sections on Museums, Galleries, Artists, Art Publications, Art Consultants, and Auction Houses and much more. Playbill On-Line Pick a city, see what's happening, buy a ticket. Broadway plays and plays in your own back yard or across an ocean. Listings include categories such as Broadway, Off Broadway, Regional, National Tours, London, and Summer Stock. A great bonus is One Schubert Alley, a boutique devoted to theatre related items from sweatshirts and mugs to vocal scores and selections. WebMUSEUM, Paris This great site has to be seen. Hundreds of classic art works on-line, relatively fast loading. This is why an art lover needs a good video card and a 17+ inch monitor but, very usable for less ambitious hardware setups..
